Arlington Heights is a wonderland of grand houses, stately mansions and some of Portland’s most renowned parks, such as the Japanese Garden, an oasis of beauty and tranquility only minutes from Downtown.
Ashcreek, characterized by its towering trees and quiet streets, where it’s safe for kids to play, offers a variety of housing options, from cute 1920s cottages near Multnomah Village to grand, new construction.
Bridlemile is nestled in the West Hills and features quiet, winding streets lined with contemporary homes, many on large, wooded lots.
Corbett-Terwilliger-Lair Hill is a long narrow neighborhood that hugs the west side of the Willamette, offering proximity to Downtown and housing variety, from multi-million dollar mansions on the hill to cozy cottages near SW Macadam Avenue. Portland’s Aerial Tram traverses over I5, the northern section of Lair Hill, and the forested hills of Terwilliger, on its way between the Willamette River and OHSU.
Crestwood is a small neighborhood featuring charming homes and proximity to the amenities of Multnomah Village and Barbur Boulevard.
Downtown, unlike many American downtowns in cities of similar size, does not go to sleep at five PM each day, but boasts world-class entertainment, dining and housing.
Goose Hollow is one of Portland’s most amiable neighborhoods, a laid back alternative to other West Hills communities, and is a quick walk to the dining, entertainment and shopping opportunities of the adjacent Downtown and Northwest districts.
Hayhurst features peaceful streets that feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, while being close to Multnomah Village, one of the city’s most comfortable and family-friendly commercial districts.
Healy Heights is blessed with narrow, shaded streets, beautiful new and vintage homes, and excellent views of the Cascades and the Willamette on its eastern side and the Coast Range on its western edge, as the neighborhood straddles Portland’s West Hills.
Hillsdale combines the convenience of a close-in Southwest neighborhood with the serenity and seclusion of those further out. Housing options range from new condos near Capitol Hwy. to houses with sweeping hilltop views.
Homestead, at the top of the city’s West Hills, offers breathtaking views of the Willamette and the Cascades, is home to Marquam Nature Park, and features one of Portland’s most loved scenic boulevards, Southwest Terwilliger Parkway. All close to Downtown and its amenities.
John’s Landing is a long narrow neighborhood just south of Downtown Portland, Oregon, hemmed in between the Willamette River and the West Hills. It stretches from I-405 and the Marquam Bridge on the north, to SW Canby St. and the Sellwood Bridge in the south. The Willamette forms the eastern boundary, and SW Barbur Blvd. most of the western boundary. In addition to Downtown to the north, other bordering neighborhoods are Southwest Hills, Homestead, Hillsdale, and South Burlingame to the west, and Hosford-Abernethy, Brooklyn, and Sellwood-Moreland across the river on the east.
Maplewood features charming bungalows on large lots, sprinkled with new construction, in a serene setting. The neighborhood is in close proximity to Multnomah Village, one of the city’s most pleasant commercial districts.
Multnomah is one of Portland’s best neighborhoods for families. With the Southwest Community Center & Pool and cozy pockets of reasonably priced houses, the neighborhood fairly beckons young families with children.
Old Town-Chinatown is a thrillingly urban, historic neighborhood. Old Town, Portland’s original downtown, is now home to bars, restaurants and live music venues and has an air of gritty, rock ‘n’ roll amiability while Portland’s Chinatown, the second largest (after San Francisco’s, of course) on the West Coast, retains enough shabby chaos to avoid being a simple tourist destination.
Southwest Hills, located in Portland’s West Hills, is home to some of the grandest houses in the city and Council Crest Park, one of the City of Roses’ most popular destinations.
Sylvan Highlands, true to its name, offers a forested setting perched high on a hill. The neighborhood is more modest than adjacent neighborhoods and one can reasonably purchase a home with a wonderful view of the Cascade Range.
