Here’s some reasons to get a loan pre-approval before you get in the car with your West Linn buyers agent to go home shopping.
- Knowing your price range – The homes you look at may be over or under what you can afford. Being comfortable with your payment (which may include your property tax) before you go home shopping will make the process go more smoothly.
- Almost all listing agents & home sellers insist on a Pre-approval letter with the offer – If you love the house and want to write an offer, the house could be gone by the time you get your pre-approval in order. Even waiting a day can mean missing out on the perfect home.
- Sellers and their agents will not take your offer seriously if you are not pre-approved.
- Most West Linn realtors will not drive you around if you are not pre-approved.
- You can get your offer in quickly, perhaps before other competing buyers.
- You may be able to get a better interest rate by improving your credit score and this can only be found out by having your credit report viewed ahead of time.
